Confocallaserendomicroscopy(CLE)isanemergingdiagnosticincreasinglyreported.Thefutureapplicationofthisnoveltech-

procedurethatenabpathologicalevaluationduringniqueexpandsbeyondthepathologicaldiagnosistofunctionalor

ongoingendoscopy.TherearetwotypesofCLE:endoscope-molecularimaging.Despitethesepromisingdata,thegeneraliz-

basedCLE(eCLE),whichisintegratedinthetipoftheendoscope,abilityoftheprocedureshouldbeconfirmedespeciallyinJapan

andprobe-basedCLE(pCLE),whichgoesthroughtheaccessoryandotherAsiancountries,wherethecurrentdiagnosticyieldfor

channeloftheendoscope.ClinicaldataofCLEhavebeenGIluminaldiseasesishigh.GiventhehighcostofCLEdevices,

reportedmainlyingastrointestinal(GI)diseasesincludingBar-cost–benefitanalysisshouldalsobeconsidered.
