ABSTRACT

GIendoscopyishighlyresource-intensivewithasignificantcontributiontogreenhousegas(GHG)emissionsandwastegeneration.Sustainableendoscopyinthecontextofclimatechangeisnowthefocusofmainstreamdiscussionsbetweenendoscopyproviders,unitsandprofessionalsocieties.Inadditiontobroaderglobalchallenges,therearesomespecificmeasuresrelevanttoendoscopyunitsandtheirpractices,whichcouldsignificantlyreduceenvironmentalimpact.AwarenessoftheseissuesandguidanceonpracticalinterventionstomitigatethecarbonfootprintofGIendoscopyarelacking.Inthisconsensus,wediscusspracticalmeasurestoreducetheimpactofendoscopyontheenvironmentapplicabletoendoscopyunitsandpractitioners.Adoptionofthesemeasureswillfacil
