Abstract

Background:Patientswithseriousrespiratoryillnessandtheircaregiverssufferconsiderableburdens,andpalliativecareisafundamentalrightforanyonewhoneedsit.However,theoverwhelmingmajorityofpatientsdonotreceivetimelypalliativecarebeforetheendoflife,despiterobustevidenceforimprovedoutcomes.
