Abstract

DrillingMaximumReservoirContacts(MRC)wellsiscrucialforthedevelopmentofmaturefields.These

operationsnecessitateprecisecontrolofthewellboretrajectorytomeetobjectivesduringlanding,lateral

drilling,andgeosteering.Apotentialriskofcollisionwithexistingwellsorlateralsrequirescomprehensive

real-timeanti-collisionandsurveymanagement.Traditionally,skilleddirectionaldrillershavereliedontheir

expertiseregardingbottomholeassembly(BHA)behaviorinspecificareas,adjustingdrillingparameters

andassemblyconfigurationsasneeded.
