ThisarticleintroducesOPENSIMPLEST,ahighlyparsimoniousstock-flowconsistent(SFC)

modelofanopeneconomy.Themodelisdesignedasapedagogicalandanalyticalbenchmark

thatpreservesthecoremechanismsofmorecomplexopen-economySFCframeworkswhile

remainingcomplete,transparent,andempiricallytractable.Unlikestandardtwo-countrymodels,

whichareoftenincompleterepresentationsoftherestoftheworld
