Scenario–SalesOrderProcessingwithDUMMYCustomerThisdocumentcoverstheSalesOrderProcessingwithDummyCustomerscenario,whichallowsyoutoprocesssalesandorderdocumentswithoutfirstlookingupthecustomer’sinformation.A“dummy”customerisusedwhenyoursalesorderprocessorsneedtoinvestigateanorderwithoutfirstlookingupthecustomer’saccountnumber.Thesalesordercanbesavedbutremainspleteuntilavalidcustomeraccountnumberhasbeenenteredonthesalesorder.Forexample,thisfunctionisparticularlyusefulforcompaniesthattakephoneorders.Acustomercallsandrequestpricingandinformationonacatalogitem.Theorderprocessorcanbuildtheentireorderanddoesnotneedthecustomer’saccountnumberuntiltheend.Oncethecustomer’saccountnumberhasbeenentered,allofthecustomer-specificinformationistransferredfromthecustomermasterandothercustomer-specificrecords.
