thatweliveinaworldthatisbothphysicallyandvirtuallydivided.Werarelyinteractwithpeoplefromotherwalks

oflife.Socialmediaalgorithmsstokethefiresofdivision,lockingusintoechochambersthatreinforceour

preexistingbeliefsandshutdowndebate.

Ultimately,wheremanyforcesaredrivingusapart,wemustthink—whatcanwedotounpackdivisionand

restoreconnection?

Wecanbeginbytryingtounderstandthepsychologyofbeliefism,whichatitscoreisaformofbias—a

mentalshortcutinwhichwecategorisepeopleaccordingtosinglecharacteristicsorgeneralisingassumptions.

Indeed,inaworldthatisinfinitelycomplex,ourmindsusethesebiasestosimplifyandmakesenseoftheworld.
