AbstractObjective:Tosystematicallyevaluatetheeffectofpreventivenegativepressurewoundtherapyinpatientsundergoing

abdominalsurgery.Methods:Randomizedcontrolledtrials(RCTs)ontheeffectofpreventivenegativepressurewoundtherapyand

standarddressingsinpatientsundergoingabdominalsurgerywereretrievedfromPubMed,WebofScience,EMbase,theCochrane

Library,CINAHL,CNKI,WanFangDatabase,CBM,ClinicalTrials,andChineseClinicalTrialRegistry(ChiCTR)fromtheestablishmentof

databasestoMay31,2024.TheCochranerisk‐of‐biastoolwasusedtoevaluatethequalityoftheliterature,andRevMan5.3software

wasusedforstatisticalanalysis.Results:Atotalof22articleswereincluded,involving3075patients.Comparedwithstandarddressing,

preventivenegativepressurewoundtherapycanreducetheincidenceofsurgicalsiteinfection(OR=0.56,95%CI0.46‐0.69,P0.001)

andseroma(OR=0.45,95%CI0.29‐0.69,P0.001)inpatientsundergoingabdominalsurgery.However,therewasnostatistically

significantdifferenceintheincidenceofincisiondehiscence,hematoma,andlengthofstaybetweenthetwogroupsofpatients.

Conclusions:Existingevidenceshowesthatpreventivenegativepressurewoundtherapycouldreducetheincidenceofsurgicalsite

infectionin
