ThisGlobalClimateHighlights(GCH)reportfromtheCopernicusClimateChange

Service(C3S)providesabriefsynopsisofthestateofglobalclimatein2025,

mainlybasedondatafromtheERA5globalatmosphericreanalysisproducedby

theEuropeanCentreforMedium-rangeWeatherForecasts(ECMWF).TheGlobal

ClimateHighlightssummarisesthestateofglobalairtemperature,globalseasurface

temperatureandseaiceinbothpolarregions.Thisreportalsoassessescurrent

globalaveragetemperaturesrelativetothe1.5°ClimitsetbytheParisAgreement,

adoptedbytheConferenceofthePartiesin2015.

ERA5isoneofsixinternationaldatasetsusedtotrackglobalaveragetemperature.

Inadditiontothisreport,whichincludesdatafromtheJapaneseReanalysisfor

ThreeQuartersofaCentury(JRA-3Q),further2025globaltemperatureupdates

willbereleasedbytheUKMetOffice,NASA,NOAA,BerkeleyEarthandtheWorld

MeteorologicalOrganisation(WMO),basedontheirrespectivedatasets.
