Since1990,Oakhavenhasundergonesignificanttransformation,evolvingfromasmallersettlementintoamoredevelopedtown.

In1990,Oakhavenprimarilyfeaturedacompactcoreareacenteredaroundacentralsquare,whichhousedthemainsupermarket,alibrary,andasmallpark.Asinglemainroadcircledthiscentralpart.Residencesweremainlydistributedalongthisroadandafewsidestreets,consistingmostlyofsingle-storyhouses.Therewerenohigh-risebuildings,andthesurroundingareaswerelargelyundevelopedlandandagriculturalfields,includingasmallforesttothenorth-east.
