一、词缀的来源

英语词缀的来源主要有三个:日尔曼语(Germanic)、拉丁语(Latin)和希腊语(Greek)。

1.来源于日尔曼语的词缀

（1）un-，如unlikely(不可能)，unexpected(没有预料到的)等。

（2）mis-，如mislead(误导)，misunderstanding(误解)等。

（3）-dom,如kingdom(王国),wisdom(智慧)等。

（4）-hood，如:childhood(童年),neighbourhood(街坊邻居)等。

（5）-ship，如:friendship（友谊），ownership（所有权，所有制）等。

2.来源于拉丁语的词缀

（1）in-，如intake(吸入，纳入)，indirect(间接的)等。

（2）mal-，如maltreat(虐待)，malfunction(失灵、故障)等。

（3）super-，如supernatural(超自然的)，superman(超人)等。

（4）sub-，如subway(地铁)，subconscious(下意识)等。

（5）-al，如cultural(文化的)，musical(音乐的)等。

3.来源于希腊语的词缀

（1）anti-，如anti-hero(反主角)等。

（2）auto-，如automatic(自动的)等。

（3）-ize，如modernize(现代化)等。
