The LIS has a central planning tool. You can create planning values for every information structure. The procedure and the functionality are always the same. You can create different planning versions for each information structure (Planning versions 001-999, actual data is stored under version number 000). You can create planning values on different hierarchy levels (aggregate and detailed planning). Different planning views are available in the system. Both physical stock and certain inward and outward movements of stock are taken into account in the availability check. You can control which elements are to be considered as inward and outward movements of stock. Stock = all warehouse stock in a plant. You also have the option to include security and transfer stock. When the system accepts an order, it is able to determine the required material availability date on the basis of the customers requested delivery date, and depending on the ship-to party, route, shipping point, and material. If backwards scheduling determines that one of the dates is in the past, forward scheduling is carried out. Forward scheduling sets the current date as the earliest possible date. Delivery scheduling takes the following times into account: Transit time :Time required to transport goods to the recipient Load time : Time required to load goods Pick/pack time : Time required to allocate goods to delivery, and to carry out picking and packing and so on. Transportation lead time : Time required to organize transportation (such as a truck) Time is specified in days (to two decimal places). Automatic credit checks can be carried out at various times during the sales order cycle, from order receipt to delivery. If during order entry the credit limit is exceeded the order can be blocked automatically and an R/Mail can be send to a credit representative. A credit representative can generate an overview list of credit holds to be processed and, depending on their authorization,
