Abstract: T his paper first giv es a brief intro duction of t he high pressure common rail fuel injection system. Dur ing
t he tests of the common rail diesel engine ,by adjusting t he rail pressure ,injectio n timing ,pre- injecton to main-
injection interval ,pre- injection fuel amount and the swirl ratio of intake system ,the influences of those parameters
on emission and fuel consumption w ere concluded. Compare the load test ,speed test and emission test results w ith
t he orig inal engine w ith in- line pump ,the same engine w ith common rail fuel injection system gives much better
perfo rmance w ith its emission exceeds Euro Ò regulation.
