天津工业大学 毕业设计（论文） 汽车车牌识别系统中字符识别方法的研究 姓 名 郑志远 学 院 电气工程与自动化 专 业 自动化 指导教师 宋丽梅 职 称 副教授 2012 年 6 月 1 日  摘 要 牌照自动识别系统是现代社会智能交通系统的重要组成部分, 是图像处理和模式识别技术研究的热点, 应用也越来越普遍。一个完整的车辆牌照识别系统一般包括图像预处理，车牌定位、字符分割、字符识别四大模块。 车牌字符的识别是汽车牌照识别的重要组成部分，识别的准确性直接影响车牌识别的效果。因此，本课题将研究如何改进车牌字符识别的算法，从而提高其识别的速度和准确率。 本文将采取改进的模板匹配法，该方法有利于改善对车牌图像中字符的识别率与车牌识别速度。改进的模板匹配法中主要是三个内容：字符归一化，字符模板库建立，字符匹配的过程. 字符归一化的目的是把提取的车牌图像中的字符调整到与标准模板中的字符特征一致，以便进行识别。 字符模板库的制作很重要，必须要用精确的模板，否则就不能正确的识别，它之字符正确识别的关键。 字符匹配的过程则会根据车牌字符区域特征进行识别已达到提高字符识别速度目的。 在相关理论的基础上，本文通过matlab软件对上述思想进行了编程实现。通过编程实验可知，该方法具有实现简单、处理数据量小、抗旋转和对低分辨率车牌字符识别性能好等优点。 关键词：汽车牌照识别 ； 图像处理 ； 字符识别 ABSTRACT Automatic License Plate Recognition (LPR) systems is an important component of the intelligent transportation systemsin modern society. It is the research hotspot of image processing and pattern recognition，and it is widely applied.This process was divided into pre-process,, vehicle license location, character division and character recognition. Character recognition is an important component of License plate license plate ,and Recognition accuracy directly affects the effect of license plate recognition.Therefore, This topic will examine how to improve the license plate recognition algorithm to recognize the license for the high recognition rate and the quick recognition speed. This article will make use of improved template matching ，which the method improve the license plate character recognition and the quick recognition speed。Improved template matching method have three main elements：character normalization，established character template library，the process of matching characters.
