In frequency analysis, the traditional calculation process of coeff-i cients of deviation from mean and modulus coefficient values was complex . It used to be solved quickly by using Excel inner function GAMMAINV. In this paper, combining w ith 56 maximal ice thickness data on the Hongqipao Reservoir in w inter, the Excel artw ork treatment function w as made use of draw ing Hyson probability coordinate paper, calculating the frequency, draw ing the experience frequency data-point, the largest ice thickness of different return period was calculated by use of P-III-type curves, scientific basis w as offered for the ice engineering design in the future.
