A health management research on the insured group who participate in medical insurance Wang Xiguo, Bao Hui, Cheng Yujing, Yu Bo Journal of US-China Public Administration Ⅰ．Introduction As a coastal city, Wendeng is a county1evel city governed by Weihai Municipal People’s Government. The amount of urban workers and residents who participate in basic medical insurance can nearly reach 200000, occupying more than 36％ of the total population in WendengIn recent years, Wendeng health insurance institutions, taking the insured as the main body, have actively carried out health interventions and systematic health management, which enable the fund payment of health insurance gradually shift from treatment to prevention, and the key work of basic medical insurance has achieved a strategic transformation, which obtains good results. Ⅱ．Basic approaches In recent years, we have kept carrying out the free health checkup for the highisk group who have participated in the medical insurance; we have widely held health education seminars, on-site consultative meetings and distributed leaflets; we have conducted propaganda about the health education to the insured through various of meetings, handling insurance matters, settling medical expenses and coping with the retirement, which helps to strengthen the insured’s health interventions, raise their health awareness and better improve their behavior to keep healthy. (ⅰ) Conducting free health checkup for the high-risk group and implementing health interventions Over the past few years, Wendeng Medical Insurance Business Unit took good advantage of the increased value and surplus of basic medical insurance fund to make the free health checkup for more than 20000 retirees and older urban residents (the high-risk group).The health checkup included routine physical examinations and other inspections such as blood fat, blood sugar, liver function, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, CDFI for lower abdomen, chest and electrocardiogram et
