Abstract: TH z phonon polariton was generated in 50 Lm LiN bO3 slab w avegu ide using fem tosecond laser
pulse. D iffractive and interferentialm icro structures, w hich w ere designed for the TH z phonon polariton
w ave, w ere fabricated by the fem tosecond laser m ach in ing system. The spatiotem poral electr ic field
profiles for TH z w ave were recorded using the tim e resolved polarization gating im aging system. The
dynam ic processes of diffraction and in terference in different size structures w ere observed and analyzed,
w hich intuitively show ed the spatiotem poral characteristics of the d iffraction and interference for the
phonon polariton w ave.
