    The client is the highest level in the SAP System hierarchy. It also denotes the specific logical system you are working on. Specifications which you make on this level apply to all company codes. Each company code is an independant accounting unit. The legally required balance sheet and profit and loss statement are created at this level. The company code will be determined by the financial accounting department. A business area is an organizational unit within financial accounting, representing a separate area of operations or responsibilities. An internal balance sheet and profit and loss statement can be created for every business area.  You can set up different charts of accounts according to your needs (global, country-specific and industry-specific). The chart of accounts is established by FI. You define all general ledger accounts within the chart of accounts. As the chart of depreciation is country-specific, SAP provides model charts of depreciation for many countries, with pre-defined depreciation areas, you can also define your own chart of depreciation. Each depreciation area may represent a specific type of valuation (for example, book depreciation versus tax depreciation). You can also define your own depreciation areas in the chart of depreciation. When creating the country-specific chart of depreciation, each company code in a country or in a business/industrial sector within one country will use the same chart of depreciation. Each company code uses exactly one chart of accounts and one chart of depreciation. Several (all) company codes within one country can work with one chart of accounts and one chart of depreciation.  You have to set up company codes in Financial Accounting first. Add the data necessary for the Asset Accounting company code. Assign the chart of depreciation to the company code. The company code is now available for use.  You can assign an asset to the following Controlling objects: cost center internal order activ
