And many people take a part in researching cultural differences by connecting with the Hofstede Cultural Dimensions Theory. But it also has some defects. As the developing of society and culture, there is no doubt that new cultural dimensions will appear. My paper studies the differences of greeting culture between Britain and Japan by looking up and understanding some papers on studying the Geert Hofstede Culture Dimensions Theory. This is a new field on studying the differences of greeting cultures. I choose this new field after reading and summarizing the research achievements of the Geert Hofstede Cultural Dimensions Theory on otherness cultures studying these years. The paper researches the meaning of Geert Hofstede Culture Dimensions Theory in comparing the greeting cultural differences between Britain and Japan, and puts forward five parts by connecting with the Geert Hofstede Culture Dimensions Theory, which are the history development of the countries, social status, gender differences, individual and collective and customs and habits. I take example by the research achievements of some papers and connect with of my own ideas to structure the paper when writing this paper.
