Economics The influence of capital stock on the economic disparities between east China and west China analysis on ‘poverty trap’ Candidate: Zhang Xuewen Supervisor: Prof.Gu Liubao Ha Minghu Academic Degree Applied for: Master of Economics Specialty: Statistics University: HeBei University Date of Oral Examination: June，2006 摘 要 摘 要 东西差距问题由来已久，它不但制约了我国经济的长期、持续发展，影响了民族团 结和地区稳定，而且也不符合我国社会主义的本质特征。西部大开发战略的实施是 21 世纪中国经济发展战略的重大转移，为西部民族地区加快发展提供了前所未有的历史机 遇，也是加强民族团结，巩固国防和实现各民族共同发展繁荣的重大战略决策，具有重 大而深远的历史意义。对于东西差距成因的见解很多，本文主要从“贫困陷阱”角度来 研究东西差距问题。 全文共分为五章：第一章，首先介绍东西经济差距的研究背景、研究现状，然后提 出本文独特的研究视角，并对相关范畴作了界定，最后列出了本文的研究框架和流程。 第二章，从总产出和人均产出、产业结构、生产效率、开放程度等角度研究了东西经济 差距的现状和变动趋势。第三章，在总结现有资本存量估算方法的基础上，充分考虑本 研究数据的可得性和方法的适宜性，提出估算东西资本存量的方法并作出估计，借助资 本存量数据分析东西部资本存量的差距并对资本在东西经济增长过程中的不同作用进 行了研究。第四章，探讨了“贫困陷阱”机制及“贫困陷阱”在中国经济中的现实性。 第五章，提出加快西部经济发展，缩小东西差距的对策建议。 关键词 东西差距 资本存量 贫困陷阱 I Abstract Abstract The economic disparities between east and west, which have been an issue held long in Chinese history, have not only constrained the economic sustainable development in the long term, affected national unity and stability of areas, but also deviated from our socialistic essential characteristic. The implement of the great west development strategy has realized the significant shift of the 21st century economic development strategy in the history of China. Being a significant strategic decision, it will have far-reaching influence, providing unprecedented opportunities for the economic speedup of minority nationality regions in the west area, enhancing national unity, strengthening national defense and contributing to mutual development and prosperity among nations.Many views have been expressed on the cause of the disparities between areas.
