According to the similarity theory, the dimensionless load separation theory was developed in this paper. Based on the dimensionless load separation theory, the modified Spb method was developed to estimate J–Δa resistance curves of ductile materials. At the same time, original testing software was developed which can be used to get the fracture toughness of ductile materials. The testing software was named J-LSS (J integral- load separation software). At last, the paper provides the J integral resistance curve of pressure vessel material A508-3 steel using J-LSS.
