School o E nergy R es our ces , China Univ ers ity o Geos ciences , B e ij ing 100083, China) Abstract: T hrough ield observation , slice, SEM and Xray di raction analyses o 41 black shale samples rom the Low er Cambrian and the Upper Ordovician- Lower Silurian in and around the Sichuan Basin, the characteristics o reservoir, racture and pore o shale were studied. There are mainly 2 types o shale gas reservoir : racture and pore. According to t he eat ures o shale gas reservoir, t he control o racture on gas accumulation as well as the nat ure o racture, t he generat ion o ract ure is classi ied into 5 degrees: giant , large, medium, small and micro rac ture. Pores include organic matter ( bitumen) pore and/ or kerogen network, mineral pores ( mineral speci ic sur ace, inner, int ercrystalline, corrosional and complexbased ones) as well as the pores betw een organic matter and miner als.
