We analyzed the applicat ion of interphase r eact ors for suppressing the secondar y current and the po w er fr equency r eso nance in EH V and U H V lines . It is r evealed that the r equired capacity o f the neut ral inductance is relat ively small , w hich is lo w er than o ne tenth of the pow er o f the interphase capacitances . H ow ever , similar to hig hspeed gr ounding sw itches in the lines w it ho ut pow er compensatio n, t he neutr al inductance also has the draw back that the po w er compensation does not funct ion at all in nor ma l operat ion of the system but is eff ective only in a ver y sho rt period during the sin g lephase g ro unding.
