The present study was carried out to identify the rice genotypes with high heat tole- rance and understand the tolerant mechanisms of both physiology and proteomics. The results showed that seed setting rate, SPAD value, plant height, root length and biomass were dramatically reduced under high temperature, while contents of malondialde- hyde, hydrogen peroxide and superoxide anions, and activity of superoxide dismutase were greatly increased, irrespectively of growth stage.
