Abstract:T hi paper tudie the theory and methodology of compiling commodity future price index, and ummarize the
ucce ful experience on the compilation of famou commodity future price index in the w orld. On the ba i of foregoing re earch
re ult , the author de ign f ive project on the compilation of China Metal Future Price Index. U ing hi torical data, the paper
empirically analyze the performance of each project on the jump effect , the inve tment function, the reaction to macroeconomy,
and o on . By comparing the empirical re ult , the author choo e the Open intere t proj ect w ith rolling period to compile China
Metal Future Price Index.
Thi paper y tematically and comprehen ively tudie the fundamental theory and methodology of compiling commodity future
price index, and re earche the compiling methodology and project of China Metal Future Price Index alldirectionally and multi
per pectivelly. So it e tabli he ound theory foundation , providing general proj ect for con tructing China Commodity Future Price
Indice y tem, and con truct an obj ective benchmark for China commodity inve tment and eff ective underlying index for index
derivative.
