比较中西方古代城市的粮食供应 谢丰斋 （淮北煤炭师范学院 历史系，安徽 235000） 内容提要：粮食供应是城市的生存命脉。古代中国的城市供应与中古时期的西欧城市相比，存在很大差异。西欧的城市主要依赖“农业腹地”和“长途贸易”提供粮食，城乡关系和境外贸易都非常重要；而中国古代城市的供应则主要依靠官府调拔和市场配置，城乡之间没有建立明确的经济关系和贸易联系。两者的差异反映了大一统社会与割据型社会相比较，城市所处的地位不同，城市的生存方式也不同。 关键词：古代、城市、粮食供应、中国、西欧 Comparing the Staple Food Supply between the Ancient China’s Cities and the Medieval Western European Cities Abstract:Staple food supply is the lifeblood of the city’s existence.
