Chapter 5 Surprises at the studio
The 1st period
Teaching Aims:
1. Understand and spell and use the new words in Chapter 5
2. Guide Students to memorize the words used in a TV studio.

1. Improve the students’ ability to guess the meanings of words according to context.
2. Develop the students’ creative, comprehensive and consolidating abilities.

The multimedia and blackboard and CDs.
Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Warming up
1. How many contestants were there?
2. What happened to one of the contestants?
3. How did the director find another contestant?
4. Who helped Angela get ready before the show started?
5. What was the name of the show?
6. What was the name of the host?
7. Who felt calm and relaxed during the quiz?
Step 2 Presentation
1. Read the following words and guess the meanings of them:
Group 1: contestant, recorder, nervous, faint, clap;
exit, button, arrow, volume.
2. Sum up

1.Listen and read the new words in chapter five.
