In this trend, the Upasaka Zong Bing who lived in the early fifth century inherited the theory of mind and nature in Indian Buddhism and he took the realmind as the innate root of all living beings becoming the Buddha. He developed the Chinese version of the mindnature theory by absorbing the Confucian conceptual contents and afforded some new meanings to the Indian one. His exploration of the conception of mind and nature in mankind was not only limited in the ethical and epistemological frame but also lifted to the ontological altitude for the first time which was definitely a new milestone in history of Chinese philosophy.
