Adding effective flame retardant can make polymer materials have incombustible ability, self extinction ability and smoke suppression. Flame retardant in clude halogenated flame retardant and halogenfree flame retardant. At present, halogenated flame re tardants are dominant in the flame retardant field, but they will give off amount of smoke and hydro halogenation, so halogenfree falme retardant will be popular in future. Halogenfree flame retardant has many advantages, such as good retardant efficiency, low smoke, nonpoisonous, it being paid at tention to by the w orld market. In this article, the kinds of halogenfree flame retardant used for PE PP, relative products and the development of flame retardant are introduced.
