Guang dong nstitute of B iog as , Guangz hou, Guang dong 510500, China) Abstract: T he ecoenvironmental protection in the mountainous rural areas in their economic development has focused the concerns of numerous scholars and public communities in recent years. T his study investigated the ecoenvironmental status and civil environmental consciousness of Reshui Tow n, Heping County , N orth Guangdong through face to face interview s w ith a questionnaire. Results showed that the economic develop ment level in the study area w as low and the area did not have any industry pollution. T he solid w aste pollu tion w as insignificant, but random disposal of domestic rubbishes w as ubiquitous. T he energy utility method w as primordial and the clean energy use rate w as low .
