Abstract: Objective To highlight the diagnose and treatm ent of stationary paraganglioma in retroperitoneum.
Methods Ten cases of stationary m edullary chromaffinoma of retroperitoneum proven pathologically from 1997 to
2007 ere revie ed and sutdied. Hypertension ere not observed in all patients, ho ere adm itted to hospital

through routine phisical exam ination. Endocrine secretion exam inations, BUS, CT, MRI, IM IBG, and octreoti
de ere used to dianose the diease. Among all10 patients, 4 cases took receptor blocker for 2~ 4 eeks preoper
atively. 3 ere operated laparoscopically, 7 ere operated ith lumber incision. Results H ypertension and urinary
catecholam ine as usually normal or elevated lightly in stationary m edullary chromaffinoma of retroperitoneum.
131and octreotide have high sensitivity and accuracy in diagosing medullary chromaffinom a. 4 ere near renal
hilum, 6 as in paraaorta. They ere from 3 cm to 15 cm in size. The results of pathology ere paraganglioma in
