Results showed that ethanol extracts at 4000 / ml appeared to be of si nificant antifeedin activity a ainst P . striolata adults. Different solvents, includin petroleum ether, ethyl acetate, nbutanol andwater, were used to further extract the ethanol extract from M . cha rantia leaves, and the ethyl acetate fraction had the stron est antifeedin activity. At the concentration of 2000 / ml and 4000 / ml for 48 h, the antifeedin index (AFI) of ethyl acetate fraction a ainst P . striolata adults in choice test was 4142% and 6627% , respectively, while that in nochoice test was 3090% and 5962%, respectively.
