glomeratiom too．Th epaperputsforwardhtegreycorrelativeanalysismehtodashtebaseoflocationquotient
forhtefirsttimenadconductna empiricalna alysisonurbna agglomerationsofHenanprovinceniviewofthe
insufficiencyofhtesimilarcoefficientmehtodsnadthelocationquotientmehtodstraditionally．Th eresultin-
dicatcdthatcomparedwiht htesimilarcoefficientmehtodsonly,htemethodmay~stimat~htesimilardegree
ofhtenidustrial stmcture bctw~ntwoareasnadreflecthtelocalnidustrialspecialization，theocmparisonSU-
perioriyt,hteregiondivisiondegree．Moreover,ocmparedwihthtelocationquotientmehtodsonly,itcan
