To give directions to people who want or need to perform the process (giving instructions) To give information to those who want to understand the process but may not actually perform it (giving information) To explain how something happened (describing the process or situation of something happened, giving the history) What are the major types of process analysis? Directive process analysis is aimed at explaining how to do or make something. Informative process analysis is aimed at explaining how something is done/works or how something took place/happened.
