Sp atz (Asia Technology Center ,H oneywell Sp ecialty Materials, Shanghai 201203, China) [Abstract] R410A is a long-term green alternative refrigerant with zero ODP (ozone-depleting-potential) to replace R22. R410A can find increasingly wide application in residential air conditioners. Inthis paper, the thermodynamic performance of R410A andR22, and the A system performance including cooling capacity and energy efficiency ratio ( EER) of four sets of comparable R410A and R22 spli-t type residential A ( air conditioner) were comparatively studied. It was concluded that R410A has excellent heat transfer and transportation performance, and therefore could help decrease the A heat exchanger size or improve the A operation efficiency.
