Analysis of the Teaching Material: This class, we will learn an article about the food traditions, we will get to know some differences of birthday customs between China and western countries. Also, we will learn some important sentences about the birthday customs. Teaching Aims and Demands Knowledge Objects Words and phrases: world, answer, different, cake, candle, age, blow, if, will, candle, lucky, popular, idea, around the world, birthday cake with candles, the number of/ a number of, the birthday person, make a wish, blow out, come true, Sentences: The answer would be different in different places. If he or she blows out all the candles in one go, the wish will come true. Ability Objects The students can understand a simple article and get the information from the article.
