The traditionaldrivermodelswhich depend on the vehicle transfer function are difficult to be established because of strong nonlinear character ofvehicle dynam ic control system. The fuzzy logic controller is introduced into the “preview optmi al curvature model” for the driver adjusting par.t A drivermodelw ith self - turning factor fuzzy logic control for vehicles is presented in this paper, which is based on the feedback of acceleration for a vehicle model including “magic formula” tiremode.l It can smi ulate the contro lling actions of drivers with the reasoning ability of fuzzy logic and doesn’ t need accurate vehicle transfer function. The smi ulation results show that the model can describe driver sdirectional control behavior wel,l thus providing an applicable method for the further research of the driver - vehicle - road close - loop system and the autonomous driving of the intelligent vehicle.
