Parameter Analysis and Design of Intake Pipe of 476Q Gasoline Engine
Abstract
The intake pipe is the main part of the intake system of the engine. The structure parameters of the inlet manifold such as the length and diameter of the intake manifold are important to the engine performance.. With the increase of the intake manifold length or the decrease of the diameter, the peak point of the engine torque and power will move at the side of the low rotational speed, whereas the peak point will move to the side of the high rotational speed.. Therefore, choosing reasonable air inlet structure parameters is important for improving the engine power and economy.
This paper analyzes the influence of the structure parameters of the intake pipe of 476Q gasoline engine on the engine power and economy.. First according to the data from empirical data and similar models initially identified intake pipe structure parameters, then the AVL BOOST software to establish the model of gasoline engine, calculated under different intake manifold length, manifold diameter and pressure stabilizing cavity volume engine power, torque and fuel consumption rate, an analysis is made of the different intake pipe length, diameter and pressure stabilizing cavity volume on the engine power and economy effect. The results indicate that when intake manifold length changes from 280mm to 340 mm, the maximum torque from 126.743N - m increased to 130.688N - m increased 3%, maximum power from the 74.7116kW increased to 75.8747kW, increased 1.6%, when the intake manifold length changes from 340mm to 380 mm, the maximum torque from 130.688N - M decreases to 128.48N - m, decreased by 1.7%; maximum power from 75.8747kW reduced to 74.9678kW reduces the 1.2%, while the lowest fuel consumption rate of change is not obvious.
