ABSTRACT: With the purpose of speeding up smart grid construction, and in order to improve efficiency and benefit of battery
energy storage station construction, the technical background is introduced, including the development of battery energy storage
station in China and the projects and theoretical exploration by SGCC, a detailed reading about the key technologies and engineering
applications of the battery energy storage station design is given. A serial of items including location selection, general plan and
layout, energy storage system, electrical primary system, electrical secondary system are unscrambled in detail. The guide provides
an important technical basis for battery energy storage station design and construction, which plays a promoting and guiding role.
