= A bstract O bjective ApoE- /- /LDL - /- /Leprdb/db, a triple- gene mutant (ALO) mouse has
established for the first tmi e, and has been used for study for the effects of allicin on hyperlipidem ia aswell
as atherogenesis. M e thods Six groups ofm icewere used (G1- G6). G1 and G2were fed a chow diet and
G3 and G4 were fed a high fat and high cholesteroldiet ( 10% anmi al fat and 1. 25% cholesterol), andG5
and G6were fed a high fat, high chrosteroldiet combined20% sucrose drinkingwater. G2, G4 andG6were
treatedw ith allicin. A llm icewere sacrificed at3, 5, 7, 11 and 15 weeks of age and then blood, liver as
well as aortawere isolated for biochem ical andmorphological analysis( n = 6) . Resu lts The level of TC,
TG and LDL- C are decreased in them icewhich received alli
