M ethods The expressions ofH IF- 1 andCA were tested by mi munohistochem istry in 54 specmi ens ofRCC tissue, w ith the results analyzed by relating them to the clinical stage and pathologicalgrade. Resu lts TheH IF- 1 expression in RCC tissuewas 55. 6%, not related to the histological type ( P 0. 05), but related to the clinicalstage and pathologicalgrade ofRCC ( P 0. 05) . The CA expression inRCC tissuewas68. 5% positive, not related to the histological type, pathologicalgrade or clinicalstage ofRCC ( P 0. 05). The expression ofH IF- 1 was positively correlatedw ith the expression of CA ( r = 0. 437, P = 0. 001). Con clu sion The overexpression and high correlation ofH IF- 1 and CA in renal cell carcinoma support the feasibility ofusing targeted molecular therapy to treatRCC.
