De t. of Environmental Engineering, Shandong University of Architecture and Engineering, Jinan 250101, China; 2.Jinan Envir- onment and Sanitation Management Bureau, Jinan 251000, China) Abstract :The general situation of the landfill in Jinan has been introduced and the ollution characteristic of the refuse leachate has been analyzed in this a er. Based on monitoring data from around the landfill, groundwater quality has been assessed by standard index, and the im act of the landfill on the groundwater environment has been analyzed, as well. The result showed that the groundwater environment has been olluted by the landfill leachate to some extent. The olluted zone for shallow layer groundwater environment is centered on the reservoir of sewage farm with northwest direction. The chief ollutantswere COD , NH-N and volatile henol, etc. It Mn 3 is necessary that the extent of olluted area should be analyzed further with the landfill constructing.
