The article gives more priorities to the recent development stat s of organic dyes, s ch as co marin dyes, polyene dyes, thiophene dyes, nat ral dyes, hemicyanine dyes, porphyrin dyes, triphenylamine dyes, perylene dyes and so forth, in which the infl encing factors of the performance of solar cells are disc ssed. Moreover, the corresponding ass mptions and meas res on how to improve the energy efficiency of the DSSCs are proposed, and finally the trends and promising prospects are presented. Key words organi
