Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, First Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University, Jianhsu 210029,China [Abstract] Objective To investigate the efficacy of anatomic needling method in treating chronic soft tissue injury. Eligible subjects were allocated, by a randomized control method, to a treatment group of 96 cases and a control group of 95 cases. They were treated by an anatomic needling method and a conventional needling method, respectively. Their therapeutic effects were evaluated. Results The cure rate was 77.8% in the treatment group, which was higher than 51.4% in the control group (P0.05). The pain, dysfunction and score improved more posttreatment in the treatment group of patients than in the control group. The therapeutic effect was produced more quickly and the recovery time was shorter in the treatment group compared with the control group (P 0.05 or P 0.01). Conclusion The anatomic needling method treats chronic soft tissue injury more effectively.
