Abstract Proceeding from automatic control theory and mathematical model of electric machines, the
development of control strategies of ac drives are expounded in com ination with practical control systems. The
analysis is made in three stages, the control strategies ased on steady state model, on dynamic model, and
independent of the mathematical model of controlled o jects. In the last stage, the development and prospects
of intelligent control are emphasized.
