The difference among the tested varieties was significant or very significant in both cane and sugar yields. Liucheng03-1137, Yuegan35 and Funong39 all had significantly or obviously significantly higher cane and sugar yields than those of the two checks, respectively ranking first, second and third among the twelve varieties tested. Yuegan35 had stronger ratooning ability and more millable stalks per hectare; Yuegan34 had significantly higher cane yield than those of both ROC22 and ROC16, with stronger wind-resistance but lower sugar content.
