The characteristic expression of muiti-vaiue func- tion by using Riemann surfaces is discussed ，and the mapping from ! piane into # piane is aiso anaiyzed. Then the reiations between poie distribution of fractionai-order systems and time-domain response are provided. It is expiained visuaiiy that a poie iocated on a 2nd Riemann sheet is far- ther away from the right haif ! piane ，conseguentiy its time-reponse is caiied the ‘hyperdamped ’. Finaiiy a stabiiity criterion is introduced for iinear non time - varying fractionai-order systems.
