Definition When a subscriber dials a phone number, this is an Origination. Originations from the wireless subscriber unit are referred to as “Mobile to Land (MTOL)” or “Mobile to Mobile (MTOM)” calls. Originations from the wireline network are referred to as “Land to Mobile (LTOM)”. An origination failure results when resources are available, but call set-up processes fail to connect the originator to the dialed subscriber within a specified time.
