CNG1000-EM Gateway Application Note Introduction of E M: E M is a general trunk signal used on telephone switches and PBX. The signals and voice trunks are separated in E M. E M is always described as Ear Mouth, or receive transmit. E M signal defines the connecting style of relay circuit and signals. E M gateway receives E signal from PBX and transmit M signal to PBX. E M interfaces are typically used to connect PBX. E M gateway can only connect its EM interface with PBX which already have EM interface. common parts: Analog E M interface has four parts, which are: 1 、 E M signaling mode and line order (type I to V) (1) 、E signal wire (ear) (2) 、M signal wire (mouth) (3) 、signal ground, SG(4) 、signal battery, SB2 audio channels (two / four) (1) 、T / R (Tip / Ring): T / R used for transmitting audio between signaling units and trunk device. In a two-line audio circuits, the two-lines are working on full-duplex audio channel mode. (2), T1/R1 (Tip-1/Ring-1): only used in the four-line audio circuit. 4-lines audio defines receiving transmitting audio signal by certain channels 3, monitor on starting dial (immediate start, wink start, delay start) 4, address signal information (pulse, dual tone multi-frequency DTMF) Typical Applications: 1、IP extend on base station of Simulation of cluster.
