Dep artment of Laboratory ，Peop le s Hosp ital of Jilin Province ，Changchun 130021 ，China 【Abstract 】 Objective To investigate the relationship between blood routine examination parameter and cardiovascular disease. Methods Blood routine examination was investigated in 95 patients with cardio-cere- bral vascular disease and 78 healthy group (over 60 years old). Results White blood cell count ，monocyte count increased in people who have the common accepted cardiovascular disease ，the platelet morphological in- dex changed compared with that of the control group. The difference between them was significant (P ＜ 0. 05) . Conclusion White blood cell count ，platelet morphological index ，especially the monocyte count has close relation with the common cardiovascular disease risk factors.
